"Never Ending Road"

Title: "Never Ending Road"

Product Details: Acrylics & Charcoal 3pc canvas set, 10" X 20"

My Message:

I'd consider turning back except I've come so far already.
I'd stop to ask directions but I'll bet they wouldn't know.
Unraveling before me, I've got so far to go. I'm running out of patience…I should have been there months ago.

"Sun Rising On the Cross"

Title: "Sun Rising on the Cross"

Product Details: 40" x 40" Acrylics

My Message: I love painting abstracts. There are no rules and there are no limits. (like most I do) I just 'go with the flow', paint whatever comes to mind, make a huge mess- never knowing the outcome! I love this one. I can't exactly point out what it is that makes me awe over it but that I love the cross! Enjoy.

"Here comes the bridesmaid..."

Title: "Here comes the bridesmaid"

Product Details: 24 x 36 Pastels/ Acrylics on canvas

My Message: This is a more abstract version of my original painting. My daughter (three years old) decided to sneak into the room and destroy my original with her own kind of "art work". I was furious, but later I thought it was cute. I started over on a fresh canvas, and displayed my daughter's artwork in my house.  I thought the story behind it and the facial expression when I caught her was good to keep and remember.

On this painting…I used my left over paint and same texture from my most recent painting posted, "Until he Returns".

Do you remember the saying… "Always the bridesmaid…never the bride"? Well, that would be me! I tried to express my emotions from all the weddings I attended and participated in last year of ALL my friends. I was a bridesmaid approx  SIX times. Yes, all of my friends decided to get married in the same year.  I painted the hideous dress one of my friends made me wear.... and buy for her wedding, though I will never wear it again! (and they don't except returns or exchanges) I tried to express all the late nights I had to stay up listening to all the dramatic wedding plans and details. I also tried to express… going to a best friends' wedding is like going to a funeral. Well, it can sure feel that a'way sometimes. Out of all my friends, I am the only left to be hitched. But trust me, I am not in any hurry! But, I'd have to admit, It's getting pretty lonely without them around anymore. Originally, I was planning to submit the painting in my gallery 'for sale', but I immediately received a good offer from one of the married friends, mentioned above. I think she is only buying it because she picked out this hideous dress.

"Until He Returns"

Title: "Until He Returns" (Custom Painting for Gina N. Ullman)

Product Details: 24" X 36" / Acrylics & Pastels

My message: I feel honored to introduce my new custom painting of a "Military Wife". My message is short and simple, yet the painting explains 'her' every emotion. After all the late night research studying the hardships, I've learned that the military is a 'lifestyle', it isn't just the husband's job. It's an experience of a lifetime, EVERYDAY in faith! And as you stumble upon my painting and message, please take a moment to appreciate her strength...Thank you!

Today's Quote:

"Nothing worth doing is completed in our lifetime; therefore we must be saved by hope. Nothing true or beautiful makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore, we are saved by love." - Reinhold Niebuhr

"High Fantasy"

(forgive the lighting, it is terrible, and the camera is cheapy)

Title: "High Fantasy"

Product Details: 24 x 36/ Acrylic & Charcoal Pencil

My Message: This painting was inspired, four years ago, by one of my favorite artists, Amy Brown. She has a unique style. I love the mysterious and gothic details she adds to each of her paintings. She only paints fairies. Each one of her fairys have a charactor, name, and a story.

One of my closest friends, Misty Monk, first introduced me to Amy Brown. She has one of Amy Brown's fairys tattooed on her back. Yes, she is obsessed. She asked me to paint  this picture for her to add to her collection. It is priceless and never for sale. Misty is a very talented photographer who also takes pictures of her daughter in fairy outfits. Huge fanatic.. check out some of her work... Misty Monk Photography.

"Expectation"

Photobucket

Title: "Expectation"

Product Details: 20 x 14 Charcoal Pencils/ Acrylics

My Message: This was created in 2004 while I was 6 months pregnant. It is a painting of a place I created in my mind, while discovering meditation. This place is where my magic and miracles happen. I believe that any human can change themselves....and master their own destiny is the conclusion of every mind who is wide-awake to the power of their own thinking!

Today's Quote: "Follow the truth of the way. Reflect on it. Make it your own.
Live it. It will always sustain you. Do not turn away what is given you, Nor reach out for what is given to others, Lest you disturb your quietness."

Title: "Winery"

Product Details: 24 X 36 ,Charcoal Pencils/ Acrylics

My Message: (This painting goes great with my last post) This is a custom painting I sold last year. The lady that requested it, showed me a painting she wanted me to do for her, at a local Target Store, of a winery scene. I'm not sure to whom the artist was. It was a lovely painting, however, it wasn't quite my taste. But by looking at it,  I kindof got the idea of what she wanted. She told me that she trusted me and to "do whatever I feel".... Ha, I usually take advantage of those four words.  She asked me to make it "sketchy" . So....with all her advise, I created my own picture of the painting she showed me. I added a lot of her personality: the type of wine she drank, her favorite color, and grapes that matched the theme of her kitchen. Even though my painting for her turned out nothing like the painting she showed me, she absolutely loved it! I visited her a couple of weeks ago, and the painting is still displayed in her kitchen. Just where I planned it to go. It matches her and her kitchen perfectly!! **makes me happy**

"Misunderstood"

Title: "Misunderstood"

Product Details: 16 x 24 /Oil on canvas

My Message: It's very hard to sum up exactly what I felt, burning within me, at the time of this painting. I feel this was such a beautiful picture in my mind, for this time and season. I challenged myself to examine the premises upon which we all base our reality...

There is something in the heart of man kind that longs to be needed, longs to do something that will make a difference, to be great, to feel fulfilled, or to go out on a limb and become a butterfly. But to be great is so often misunderstood. Particularly the small things we do affect the whole. Sometimes it's the little things that make a bigger impact. For things to flow in all areas of our lives...we have to allow the energy to flow in our thoughts, our actions...that each thought and action, an idea expresses greatness, abundance, freedom, and love! Which means not putting limitations on it by a certain person, a certain way it has to come, a fear that it can't come. Every limitation is only from within and it can be changed by us. We aren't stuck just because the limitation is there, it's only illusion that it's there permanetly...it is not! Anytime we can say--I am worthy of more, love yourself more and accept only the best and highest for yourself! Anything that affirms what you want, is always stronger than the limitation!

"To be great is to be misunderstood."--Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Live for Today"

Photobucket

Title: "Live For Today"

Product Details: 24" X 34" Acrylic on Canvas/Oil Crayons/Clear coat.

My Message: This is one of my favorites. The story behind it is so unique. This is a picture of a woman who worked at a Chinese Buffet in my hometown area. I went to this buffet for lunch one afternoon, during my lunch hour. I was in a hurry to get back to work, so I asked for a to-go box. I filled up my box, my bowl of soup, and rushed out the door. As I was leaving, a lady (the lady in the painting) stopped me while rushing out the door and said, "Please, do not forget your fortune cookie". I giggled, grabbed it from her hand, and ran to my truck. After I returned to work and finished up my lunch, I was curious to why this lady chased me out the door to give me a simple fortune cookie. I grabbed the cookie, opened it up and read, "You must learn from yesterday but live for today." This powerful message inspired me to paint.

Daily Quotes from: thinkexist.com

"Life offers us the opportunity to act on the basic human impulse to create. This incredible opportunity, whether it takes the form of a full time occupation or much loved unpaid labor, is not to be taken lightly. It is a gift, a grace, and because it is an unearned blessing we cannot tell what may come from our efforts to honor the process, what effects the work we do will have in our lives or the world.
That is not our business.
Our business is to honor the gift, do the work and give ourselves to it completely while keeping sight of our human fears about failure and fantasies about achievement."
